1. Who We Are
Hot Seat is operated by Thruvi LLC ("Thruvi", "we", "us"). Thruvi LLC is the data controller for personal data processed about Hot Seat users.
2. Data We Collect
- Account data: email address, password hash, display name.
- Game data: rooms you create or join, teams, scores, questions reported.
- Support & feedback: messages you send via the feedback form.
- Usage & telemetry: IP address, device/browser info, crash logs, and basic event analytics used to operate and improve the service.
- Billing reference: a customer/subscription ID returned by Paddle. We do not store card numbers — those are collected and held by Paddle.
3. How We Use Data
- Create and authenticate your account.
- Operate gameplay (rooms, presence, scoring, casting).
- Provide customer support and respond to feedback.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud and abuse.
- Improve product quality and develop new features.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal Basis
We process personal data on the following bases, as applicable:
- Contract — to provide the service you sign up for.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and improve it.
- Consent — where we ask for it (e.g., optional analytics or marketing cookies, where applicable).
- Legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting, and regulatory rules.
5. Sharing
We share personal data with:
- Paddle.com Market Limited — our Merchant of Record. Paddle independently controls billing, payment, fraud screening, tax compliance, and invoicing for purchases.
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, analytics, and email infrastructure used to run the service.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting, and similar advisers under confidentiality.
- Authorities — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and property.
We do not sell personal data.
6. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where personal data is transferred from the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
7. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymized. You can delete your account at any time from the account page; some records (e.g., billing records held by Paddle) may be retained as required by law.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data ("right to erasure").
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Port your data to another service.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise these rights, contact us through the in-app feedback channel. We respond within one month (extendable for complex requests, as permitted by law).
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices — to protect personal data. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.
10. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies strictly necessary to authenticate you, keep your session active, and remember basic preferences. Where additional analytics or marketing cookies are used, we will request your consent as required by law and provide a way to manage your preferences.
11. Children
Hot Seat is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email.
